I have seen some flowers on the adenium plants that are too heavy for the branches but not leaves. Mushy oozing/watery (not soft) areas are rot and need to be removed 100%. I just recently got 2 small desert roses that were started from seed and 2 that are a little bigge. Some roses such as Nahema have holly-like leaves. Will the plant be ok ? If the aloe is not watered often enough or watered too lightly, then aloe vera consumes the moisture stored in its leaves to survive which causes them to curl inwards. The caudex is still firm, so there should be no damage to the root system. The problem with store bough cactus soil is that they haev peat in them which retains water. When I first got her I watered whenever it seemed dry (before I did my intense research). I pulled all off. Many people use grow light up north to get the adenium plants out of dormancy early to get more flower periods. I’m about to buy more and this time I’d love for them to thrive and I’d like to try to save my few ailing ones. Anyway, i noticed leaves turning yellow and dropping, along with flower buds. My initial guess is some type of borer and that the holes are exit holes. But it’s winter so I don’t know if the leaves are just falling of because it cold or because it has a problem. During our dry months if we do not water the plant enough the caudexes will get soft. All of the leaves dropped when I brought it inside for the winter (zone 5b). Plastic retains water and does not allow the soil to breath. Good Day: Well it sounds like root/stem rot to me and the only way to get rid of rot is to cut it all off. I live in N. Some of the new leaves that grow out are black and dried and are very tiny so they fall off very quickly. If you don't get rid of mealybugs, they can end up killing your plants. Tip rot you will loose all your leaves. Then the softness set in. I would recommend a time release fertilizer and possible re-pot with fresh mix including dipping in super thrive before re-potting.
